The site runs on Laravel 12 with a small hand-written stylesheet: Anton for the big type, Work Sans for reading, one cobalt accent, and a light or dark theme that follows your system setting. Each article's Blade view is the single source of truth, with the metadata and the body living in one file. There's no CMS, no admin panel, and no auth. Just code.
It's hosted on Google Cloud. The app runs as a single container on Cloud Run (nginx and PHP-FPM, scaling to zero when nobody's reading), sitting behind a Google Cloud HTTPS load balancer. The database is Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL, reached through the Cloud SQL Auth Proxy with IAM sign-in, so there's no database password anywhere. Every deploy goes through Cloud Build: it builds the image, pushes it to Artifact Registry, deploys a new revision, runs the migrations and the article sync as a Cloud Run job, then checks the site's health endpoint before calling it done.
Search runs server-side on PostgreSQL using pg_trgm trigram similarity, so it's typo-tolerant. A misspelling or a partial word will still surface the right post.
Traffic stats come from a tiny first-party beacon captured in the load balancer's request logs and queried in Cloud Logging. It's cookieless, with no third-party analytics, and nothing is stored about you beyond an aggregate page count.
